The Ronald McDonald House or I so like to call it, the RON MAC is great. Nothing fancy, but very homey and convenient. Each family has their own room and every two rooms share a bathroom. The rooms just have a dresser, bed and nightstand in them. I saw another girl's room (she's been there 7 months) and they've brought in a tv and a lawn chair and their whole collection on x-box games and DVD's.
There's a big kitchen and everyone has space to keep their own food. There's community food for anyone. Volunteers from the community bring in dinners each night. Everyday we have a different chore to do, with some days off. There is a laundry room and the machines and soap are all free. For kids, there's a playroom and 3 big rooms with tv's and games, pool table, ping pong, foosball, and x-box too.
It's close to the hospital and is only $10 a night. What would we do without it? It's great. The people there are so nice. If ever you get a chance to volunteer or donate to a RON MAC, do!
Avery is doing well. yay! All the prayers have been helping her. I know it. :)
She's off the CPAP machine and on a high-flow nasal cannula. She's getting milk in a tube to her stomach. Her electrolytes were a little off, but no biggie. She's wearing a cute onesy top with a red bird on it from her Aunt Somer! It's perfect.
I thought she'd get orders to go to a moderate care floor, but she needs to get more stable. Sometimes she gets cross-eyed and looks a little like "Radar" from M.A.S.H. but much cuter. ;)
Tomorrow, Zachery and Grandma Christensen are coming up to stay a couple nights! I'm looking forward to it!
Happy Sunday.

It is fun to see you on Sundays! I hope things continue to get better with Avery. You should come tomorrow night at 7:00. Have fun with your mom and Zachary!
What a lovely place to stay! I've never thought twice about the Ronald McDonald houses, and look what a fabulous thing they are.
And I'm so glad Avery is doing so well. What a wonderful blessing.
