1. My leg was itching a little last night and when I checked it out, I had a big red spot. It's a spider bite and it kept getting bigger and bigger today. The creepy part is, when did I get bit? Where is the beastly thing now? Was it while I was sleeping (perish the thought) ? Planning another attack?
I guess it's karma coming to get me, after threatening to kill all the spiders I find in the house.
2. Eric is moving offices, again, this weekend. Movers are taking the big stuff, but we had a "date" and moved pictures and things last night. He is in a office space with a bunch of independent lawyers, but they share a receptionist and conference room. I like the new office and hope they stay there for a long time (or until we move out west). ;)
Eric's been quite involved in the group's move and he'll be much relieved of this stress next week!
3. Zachery starts preschool the Wednesday after Labor Day and we all couldn't be more excited.
4. Avery took a few independent steps today! Yay. She still thinks crawling is best, but progress nonetheless.
Til next time.

Noon Tunes at Wildwood
At Wildwood park, by the Manor House is this little english garden. I love it. I didn't know it existed til last week. I met a friend at the pavilion to listen to music students play while we ate our lunches on the grass. The music was nice and sitting in the back allowed Zach to run and play. After the concert, we walked to this garden and I love it! I only wish it were bigger. :)

Zach ran ahead of me and actually got into this fountain. :)

Zachery's new smile for the camera. He'll even tell me, "Say cheese. Take a picture". Then he's done, and the smile is gone. I just have to be quick.

cute place

These roses remind me of the Rose Garden in Portland, OR---loooovely, surreal roses all over!!

Injustice
I'm all fired up and I have to get it out somewhere or I'll say something I shouldn't. I got a message from Avery's cardiologist office saying I needed to reschedule her appt. because Dr. Draper was no longer there. ??? Why? As a doctor, I love Dr. Draper. He explains everything very well, is calming to anxious parents, gives good advice and has proven to be a competent doctor for Avery. I don't want to go to another doctor, I trust him.
So, I made a call to another doctor's ( a friend of this dr.'s) office downstairs from his to see if they knew why he wasn't there any longer. No luck there. I had to know, that if Draper was opening his own office, I was going to follow (sounds stalk-ish). So, I opened the yellowbook and called the house. Luckily he answered and I found out all I needed to know. I won't relay it all, but I am still upset and he got a raw deal! He's canadian and is here with a work visa tied to St. V's. He may have to leave the country! What?! He did thank me for calling and that it meant a lot. I feel bad for them and this isn't about his actual work. He is the best ped's cardiologist in Toledo, and good with people (not always hand in hand).
I guess I'm upset for two reasons. 1-I don't want to go to another doctor. 2-Draper got a raw deal.
What can I do? Barge on into the office of the swine who is responsible and throw his computer at him? no. Voice my concerns to the said office? maybe. Write about it on my blog? yes. I think I need to do more. I have yet to make another appt. with a different doctor and feel spiteful against St. V's and thinking of changing to Toledo (unwise, UofM has relationship with St. V's).
Alright, disregard this post. I've written and am calming down. :) somewhat.
:) Bottom line, does it matter?

Sizes
I picked up a shirt that I thought Zachery could wear next year. When I got home and examined it the next day, I looked at the worn out label and made out, "small"?! It was a women's small shirt!! What? How can you confuse a size 5T boys shirt for a women's small? The small elbow pocket should have been a give away. Oh well, it was cheap. I do know that if I were to stretch that puppy on, I would leave little to the imagination. yikes.

Pictures, Stickers and a Backpack
It's only taken a year, but we finally got some pictures on the wall at home. :) Eric and I had to negotiate about one going up in particular. I wanted it, he didn't (because of the frame), so I let some fake green ivy go and up the picture went.
All in all, we're not happy with how it all looks, because some of our stuff looks dated. What we really could use is Candace Olson from Divine Design to come and design our place. That would be great. Dream on.
Avery's taken to picking stickers off of things. Garage sales price stickers, stickers on produce, stickers on library books. I was going to pay for something at a garage sale and noticed Avery with multiple prices on her pants :). Hee, hee, sorry lady. The good thing is, she is very entertained by a page of stickers during church.
Zachery is becoming a better helper to me lately and is enjoying playing with Avery a little more. He is growing fast and it makes me just want to squeeze him and enjoy the moment. I'm a huge chunk of his world right now and that will change, so I'll just cherish it now. He is a sponge and he needs a trained professional to dump book learning on him. Now I'm excited for him. :) He's been working on writing letters and is very excited to take his backpack to preschool, even if it's only to hold a change of clothes ;).

Grow old with me, the best is yet to be
Last Monday was Eric and I's 7th anniversary. 7?!! When did that happen? I wanted to blog something to say to the world, we've made it this far and hope our life gets better and better.
We celebrated our annivery back in Colorado and went for italian food and a movie (H.P.). We did spend the evening together on the 3rd and for us right now, that's golden. :)
We're not the same people we were, but who wants to stay the same when life keeps changing on you!
For 7 years anniv. the gifts to give are copper and wool. ? So, here is a shiny penny and a sweater. :)
This is the only picture of "us" I could find. I guess we need a new one! (Oh, and I'm trying to blow out the candles.)

"The North Pole"
In Colorado Springs, there is a children's amusement park, called the North Pole. I went went I was 12, and I thought I was too big. When we were out in Colorado, I was excited to take Zachery there, a perfect place for little kids. It did not disappoint, Zach had a great time and so did we
The post on this sign has ice around it...cool. The fact that everyone there touches it and I'm sure some kids licked it....not cool.

We'd taken Zach to the Strawberry festival and told him he could have 2 rides. Well, when we got to the North Pole, he kept insisting he only got 2 rides. :) He was weighing his options, but I didn't want to sit around, so I'd offer to go with Zach, then when he refused, I'd get on and sometimes grab one of my neices or nephews to ride with me, to look more legit. I was having fun. Eventually Zach warmed up to the rides and he had a great time too. In this ride, Zach said we had to put our hands in the air and say, "Wheee".

Zach rode this 3 times, just don't let your skin touch the sides.

It was wonderful having our family together! That is vacation for us.

It's hard to tell from this photo, but these elves looked freaky. Santa was very jolly and normal though. :)
