Avery is looking fabulous. Mom and I both spent time holding her in rocking chair at the hospital. We gave her a bath and loved every minute.
Avery's nurse said she may be moving tomorrow. Here is the dilemma: I had a hornery nurse and bad experience in Moderate Care, and I'd like to just go to General Care, but to go to General Care they would have to take out a iv line. If Avery should suddenly need an arterial line, they'll have to use a different main vein and once one has been used, it's pretty much unaccessible after that. Avery has 2 more surgeries after this and needs all the main veins she can get. What to do? Insist her arterial line/iv stays in and she goes to Moderate Care, or take the iv out and hope she just does so well and the iv line won't be needed again til we go home. Hmmmmm... I think Moderate Care. I can stay at her bedside all the time without leaving during shift changes. I can eat there, and there are showers close by that I can use. The only thing is I can't sleep there (General Care you can). I know this is rambling and I'm trying to sort out my thoughts here. Wish us luck.
The good news is that she's doing well!
Zachery (last I heard tell) was having a great time with his cousins. :)

Hi Renae. I'd go with keeping the IV. But this is from a mom who watched docs and nurses struggle to get an IV for over 2 hours. Poor, sweet Maisy. You can request a nurse change, talk to the charge nurse. Avery is good hands. Keep up the good work. We love you.
Go Avery...I need a Team Avery bracelet too! :)
I'd go with staying in moderate care! it may not be great that you can't sleep there, but that also means you can get more sleep! you need to stay healthy as well!!
Hm, I think I met that nurse. Well, more like encountered - I can understand the dilemma. Hopefully they aren't all that difficult. Right?
I have have much better nurses this time and as long as grumpy nurse isn't assigned Avery, as is well. :)
