No Trach

Avery had her bronchoscopy this morning. The good news is, is they didn't trach her! The meds she was getting for swelling didn't seem to work, but they did go in and stretch, or "dialate" her airway. I saw the picture and it looks so good, red, but good. Avery's throat is sore, and her blood oxygen level is low, but they're watching it and anticipate it to get better as the day wears on.

I held her after she got back to PCTU and she kept coughing and I heard her cry, a real cry! I don't hear the stridor squeeks anymore! We think her vocal cord is healing as well. After she is stable, we should be coming home soon. Yay!

I mentioned to someone how I felt like I was living in a bubble here. Not quite real, yet too real. Going home, for real this time, will be great. Avery needs to get bigger and so we can do this again this summer.

Positive thoughts, no trach.

Wonderful news, Renae. I'm so glad you make time to update your blog. She is too beautiful (more pictures, please :) Maybe some of you holding her so we have evidence that you're both getting along ok, together?) Love you.

So happy for you, trach's suck, its true. I know from experience. Renae I wish there was something I could do for you, you helped me so much when I was in my own personal dilemma's. Anyway Avery is beautiful and you will get out of this mess and soon you will be worrying about wonderfully superficial things like and you won't be worrying about life and death things, just keep close to the Lord and you will make it! Love, Annie Tanner
