Avery is doing alright today. She had a swallow study done and swallowed like a champ, too bad it was just barium. Avery's been on tube feeding only and misses the bottle.
Tomorrow she is going to have another look at her airway. She'll be sedated, but not as much as yesterday so that her vocal cord will be less sedated (I think). Again, I made myself clear on how we felt about a trach and that since she'd had a stridor before, and it'd gone away, then returned, that it wasn't a permanent thing. However, I didn't cross out "tracheostomy" on the consent this time.
When you sign a consent, they list all the risks and suddenly it sounds like certain death. I know it's not, but sheesh.
Avery chews on her pacifier and I got a shot of her holding it in her mouth, so cute.
Tonight I am going to hold Avery and watch "Lost". :)
Hug your child and tell them how much you love them.

Renae,
Aryn turned me to reading your posts about a month ago. I always feel like I am impressing myself on someone else's life by reading their blog without asking. I hope you don't mind.
With all of that said, I want you to know I think of you often and pray for you and your little one. And I will say what everyone else has already said. You are Mom. You know what is best for that little girl. And you will do what is best for her.
Please take care and know you both are thought of often.

So glad Avery is swallowing (even if it is only Barium). We are constantly praying that she will get better. So glad you are able to hold her. Things always feel better when you can hold you baby.
Renae..I'd like to hug you and tell you that I love you. You are so strong.
She is getting so big! She looks adorable sucking on the purple pacifier.
Jessica, of course you can read the blog. How are you? If you invite me to read yours, then I'd love to keep up on your life too.
It's good to hear from you. Thank you for the kind words and prayers for Avery.
Love, Avery's MOM :)
