Yoo Halloo! (from the Phantom Tollbooth)
Little A and I have been home for almost 2 weeks and Avery is doing well! Her heart is functioning great. She is pink and her feet have been warm. :) Someone asked me if she is done with her feeding/g-tube, and she is not. Avery is still working on eating. She likes to play with her food, asks for food and loves to taste/lick food. However, she doesn't swallow much of it. When she eats all her food, then she can get her g-tube removed. Until that blessed day, we now tube most of her food. :) Maybe one day she can hook herself up to eat. :)
I'm happy to be getting back into life as I know it. I love my yard and came home just in time to see it all blooming. I am up late at night and sometimes up a lot during the night, but that will change as time goes on. I'm just happy to have a family, warts and all (none of us have warts).

You don't have warts???? :)
I have definitely noticed Avery is more pink. Awesome!!
Good for you (and A)! I'm finally getting our little stinker to "taste" food (what's with the no-swallowing with these kids?!) and I have thought the same thing about her self-feeding via tube, blah. :(
I have been wanting to ask you more about A's tube feedings, like what you feed her, is it always a "formula" or do you do other blended stuff? I guess I should just send you an email and ask you all this stuff. I'm just so done with the tube/vomit cycle. :(
OK. So my kids don't have feeding tubes, but still refuse to eat! What's up with that?! How about ice cream? It's milk, protein, bone-building goodness... ;)
Seriously, though, I'm glad she is doing so great!
I'm so happy for you! I'm glad she's out of the hospital!
I'm glad things are getting back to normal for you. Want to come and play one day this month???
