The Log Song

Avery is taking a naparoo.  One of her chest tubes is leaking out and after a long story which I will spare you, her surgeon came in and said she'd stitch it back on so it will stop slipping out.   I was relieved.  A chest tube that keeps slipping out and leaking all over is no way to live, even with pain meds. :)

What rolls down stairs alone or in pairs, rolls over your neighbor's dog?  What's great for a snack if it fits on your back, it's log, log, log.  It's lo-og, lo0og, it's big, it's heavy, it's wood!  It's lo-og, lo-og, it's better than bad, it's good!

(Just some of my coping skills coming out.)

Last night when I got back to the RMH, another mom told me about her son's situation.  This boy had been in the hospital for Avery's same surgeries at the same time.  However, he's back now due to complications and they're going on 11 weeks now. !!  His complication started out as something that Avery has, but has turned into a long different issue.  It's just so hard sometimes.  They seem to be managing okay, at least last night.   Is it that we get through it all, or how we get through it all?  Time passes, regardless of what we do.  That leaves how.   With help. :)
Thank you for your prayers and kind words!

We pray for all of you all the time. Its such a roller coaster. And even when things are going well for your little one, you feel bad for the other parents and worry that their woes might become yours. So many memories, but Avery looks great.

Tonight when we were helping Jack with his prayers we said, "Bless baby Avery." And he said, "She's not a baby, she's a big girl."
