We've belonged to the YMCA for a couple years now, ever since I biffed it on a sidewalk seam two blocks from our apt. and passed out before I could make it home. :) I've gone regularly to workout on my own but, until now I'd never taken a class (okay, except for prenatal water aerobics-which I highly recommend).
I have been jogging and using the eliptical machine for a loooong time and thought I needed something to mix things up and possibly get a different shape on my two-pregnancy-body. My friend, Alison told me about her spinning class she took and how hard it was the first time (she threw up on the way home). With that recommendation I signed up. And so, "Oh my goodness!" that totally kicked my butt. I hadn't sweated like that in a long time. Although I didn't toss my cookies, I moaned up and down our stairs the rest of the week. I had serious doubts I could even do this class, but a nice lady at the Y said to keep at it, that it'll get easier. So I have.
We had a substitute teacher for our first class, and the next week our regular teacher helped me to adjust my bike to fit me. That made SUCH a difference. Anyhoo, I had my third class today and I'm doing much better and enjoying it!
Funny thing though, I was thinking last week that it would be nice if this class were twice a week, instead of once. So, today, the teacher just happened to mention she wouldn't be there Wednesday. ??? Wed.??? I asked her after class, and sure enough, I've missed the past two Wednesday classes. I am going to blame this on having too much on my plate. But sometimes, I still want seconds!

I hate that - when something like that goes over my head and I totally have no idea. Ack. At least now you know to attend on Wed. from now on.
maybe I should try spin again. I HATED it when I went. I vowed never again. It's really really hard so way to go! I am so much happier outdoors. come winter- I may try it out with you though!
Sounds like a death sentence to me. Me and bikes do not go together. Give me a kickboxing class or pilates and I'll eat it up.
I am glad to hear that you tried Spinning. I really love it and can't wait to start back again hopefully in the winter when I can get a membership somewhere again. I think drinking the right amount of water makes a big difference too. I was guzzling that water on the first day. I was working so hard. You always feel good after though!
