Yesterday I got some unexpected news and that never goes over well with me, however, last night I reminded myself that things can change from day to day. Avery has a liver-picc-line going to her heart for i.v. antibiotics, and Dr. Mah, informed me yesterday that one cannot go home with this kind of picc-line, one has to be in a hospital. Avery is 12 days into a 6 week antibiotic run and so.... Today, the good news is, that it's a good possibility that once Avery has the wound-vac off (which I saw them change the dressing today and it's looking better, but gross nonetheless (one word?), she could switch to an oral antibiotic and go home!!! I'm going to make a "Team Oral Antibiotic" sign for her door and use the power of suggestion to swing things our way. :)
Avery is doing well, considering. She is happy and loves any sweet attention. I gave her a bath today, she had a not fun chest x-ray and not fun blood draw, but the beauty of it is, they forget, time passing is a good thing, once again.

Renae, she's so cute I can't stand it. Good for her for chunking right up! I noticed you took down yesterday's post... your positive attitude continues to amaze me. Keep on keepin on and know that someone in Vegas loves you.
Avery is looking so good. My goodness! What a doll. I have been following your posts... every day checking in to see the updates. I have loved reading them all. Sorry I don't comment more... but you and Avery have been in my prayers.
Thanks for suggesting that I write a letter. I actually hadn't thought of that... and it is probably much more effective than if I were to call and tell the receptionist why I'm switching doctors. I'm so non-confrontational... a letter is perfect.
Take care!!
Being a hospital mom is tedious, but worth every minute, you are awesome, hang in there!
