We are Thankful

Yay, I think I figured it out. We'll see when I try to check in again. You see I've been trying to change my background and been messing it up. Cynthia was right, aquapoppy does make it easy. :)

It's been almost a week since our last update and so here goes, in bullet form.

-After intense pain, by my judgement, and an ultrasound to figure out why, I had a cyst on my ovary burst. This would be my first time with one of these and there's nothing one can do about them. At least I know what was going on, and now I'm pain free.

-Water and sewer extras started coming out of our basement drains, on Friday night. $337 bucks later it was fixed.

-Sunday evening, our garbage disposal broke. Eric found out by seeing water in the basement. Monday night Eric replaced it and by 11 p.m. it was fixed and even better than before (replaced something electric). Way to go handyman!

-Noticed water dripping from above the back door from under the screened in porch. I'm hoping this trend stops and this house is no lemon. please.

-Avery has continued to not spit up food and the feeding tube is still in! The tubes are good for a month and I'll have to pull it out to change it, which will be a first. Avery is doing well. She is usually all smiles and happy (except when she is tired or I try to give her a bottle - what was I thinking?)

-Zachery is becoming quite verbal and I love that he is seeming so grown up, in some ways. He still acts silly and I love it.

-Eric was called to serve in our ward's bishopric as second counselor. The only difference here for me anyway, is he won't be able to sit with us during sacrament meeting to handle Zachery. 2 Sundays ago, Zach threw crayons at the podium (humiliations galore). I am optimistic, because there are, likely, 15 other women in our congregation who sit with their kids and no husband there, and do fine (or recover very well). :)

-I'm thankful for all of this! It means we have a house, we eat, we clothe ourselves, we have running water, that's usually filtered, and we're all together. That's better than many in this world.

You have such an optimistic outlook -- I love that! I'm hoping all the house issues are now out of the way and that you can just live happily ever after!

As for Sac. Mtg. -- you'll be great. You really will. No one will care if there are more crayons flung anyhow.

If it makes you feel better, we had a similar string of house problems right when we moved in and they've definitely slowed down since.
We missed Eric being called to the bishopric on Sunday. Wow! He'll be great, but what a job.
Way to be optimistic!

Don't worry about the crayons- it's all part of the mormon flavor! We've been in small areas for so long that when we visited mom's ward last week, Quentin couldn't get over how loud sacrament meeting was. I told him that's how it's supposed to be! In our wee ward we only have two babies, one being Joely and the other a ten month old, the meeting is SILENT - I have to admit, it's pretty boring without a cute kid to mess with things! As far as your husband being called--- at least he's not the bishop! LOL

Ahh, the joys of home ownership...especially older homes. We had similar problems only they cost thousands as I recall.

Did the Toledo first ward get a whole new bishopric or just new counselors?

kenna, the Shepherd's are moving, so just Eric was called.

So glad you got the background figured it. It is always fun to change it up.
And don't worry about Zachary throwing crayons. I was at church and I didn't even notice. I doubt many people saw.
Hope everything gets squared away with your home- ah the joys of home ownership!

Oh Renae, ovarian cysts are the worst! I feel your pain and am glad you are feeling better now - ouch! Yeah for Avery and her feeding tube - that's wonderful. I love your positive outlook on everything, and the new backgroud is super cute.

Well, it seems like there is a water problem in basements out here...we had some water in our basement too (different reason though). We also had our ceiling leak from the upstairs bathroom (It was an accident though..Dylan left the water running and the sink had no overflow!)Ahh..the joys of being a homeowner!

Incredibly busy life, Renae! I'm impressed with your optimism. And don't be embarrassed by the crayon throwing. No one in the congregation is judging you--they're just grateful their kids are the ones doing it.

Wow, what an update. I hope you're doing okay...pain and all. Call me if you need anything (that is what VTs are for!)
